downsizing my zine collection

i’ve decided to downsize my zine collection, so i’m selling everything off in parcels for the cost of postage. you can choose a priority envelope, a medium-sized priority mail box, or a large priority mail box. i will pack it to capacity & ship it off to you. this is an especially awesome way to build the collection of a zine library, but it’s also great for folks who just want to read more zines. i’ve been accumulating my collection for over fifteen years & what i have now is just the stuff i have especially enjoyed over the years. there are some real gems in here. if you have ordered from my distro over the years, you are familiar with what i like–mostly feminist personal zines. but i have lots of zines: comics, really political stuff, stuff about physical, mental, & reproductive health, bike zines, parenting zines, travel zines, old riot grrrl zines, etc. there are literally hundreds & hundreds of zines looking for homes.

the prices:

in the U.S., for a flat rate envelope: $5
medium priority mail box: $11
large priority mail box: $15

in canada, for a flat rate envelope: $12
medium priority mail box: $27
large flat rate priority mail box: $34

everywhere else, for a flat rate envelope: $14
medium priority mail box: $44
large flat rate priority mail box: $56

you are more than welcome to buy multiple packages if you wish. i accept payment via paypal at, or you can send cash, check or money order (made out to ciara xyerra) to:

my only caveat: i am selling these for the cost of postage. i ask that you do the same if you ever decide to get rid of these zines. or donate them free to a zine library. please DO NOT sell these zines off one by one piecemeal or put them up on any kind of auction or sale site. these zines are not to be sold through distros. i am just hoping to find new readers for them, who will treat them with the same respect i have been showing for them.

in the event that somehow everything sells before i receive your payment (unlikely, considering the enormous quantity of zines avilable…but then again, you guys really surprised me with how quickly you ordered my distro stock when i shut down), i’ll simply refund your money.

feel free to spread the word among your zine-loving friends. thanks!

i’m kind of sad to be doing this…but i’m not getting rid of everything. there are zines in the collection to which i am very attached, & i’m going to hold on to them. but i’m hoping to scale down from literally several thousand zines to maybe one hundred. right now, the zines are being stored in milk crates next to my desk. it’s better than having them in boxes in a closet, but they’re still not very accessible & therefore i almost never look at them. they’re just taking up space. & every time i move, it’s more stuff to pack & haul out to the truck & carry up & down stairs. i think it’s time to say goodbye.

Ciara Xyerra wrote zines for the better part of two decades. She has a brilliant & adorable preschooler named Ramona & sews as much as she possibly can. She lives in Lawrence, Kansas with her boyfriend. She enjoys catching up on "The New Yorker", meatball subs, keeping it cranky, intersectional post-third wave feminism, dinosaurs, & monsters. If you have nothing nice to say, she recommends that you come sit here by her, so you can say not-nice things together.
